Re: 鈥淗organ passes on free transit,鈥 April 27.
Premier John Horgan claims to support better public transit and more affordable fares as a way to reduce climate pollution, but his actions tell a different story. Last week, Horgan announced $85 million in highway-expansion projects in Greater Victoria.
Highway expansion makes traffic worse (resulting in delays for transit riders) and increases climate pollution. The money is far more than would be needed to complete the Trans-sa国际传媒 Highway shoulder bus lanes from McKenzie Avenue to the 6聽Mile Pub area, which is the Victoria Transit Commission鈥檚 top priority.
Freeing transit riders from the Colwood Crawl is a no-brainer. Does Horgan want to make the climate emergency worse by keeping public transit to the West Shore miserable?
