I feel sorry for our Prairie and northern neighbours because they pay the most carbon tax in sa国际传媒. They don鈥檛 have the same luxury as sa国际传媒 to make an abundance of clean energy from hydroelectricity.
Our neighbours have to use fossil fuels to make electricity. As a result, they pay the carbon tax on their electricity bills, unlike us in sa国际传媒 Canadians in these vast and sparsely populated regions of the country also pay more carbon tax because of the additional energy they need to survive the cold winters.
Our neighbours could try to build some nuclear plants to reduce their carbon-tax bill. They could also build more bird-friendly wind farms and replace the fertile land around towns and cities with hectares and hectares of solar panels. Alternatively, they could move to the West Coast.
The federal Liberals should have done a better job at recognizing the disparity that a national carbon tax creates. The federal carbon tax should be unconstitutional under the Charter of Rights and Freedoms, as it discriminates against Canadians living in regions that are flat and cold.
