This is in response to what my neighbours in James Bay are saying regarding horse-drawn carriages.

As a resident who has watched these horses day in and day out for the past 24 years in our neighbourhood, I feel absolutely honoured and privileged to be a part of a city that sees this industry as a charming and romanticized piece of Victoria.

We moved to James Bay for the quiet, slow-paced lifestyle that still exists today.

It is the perfect area for the horses and we love listening to the clip clop of the hooves as they slowly pass by.

If someone in a vehicle or on a bicycle is frustrated and has to slow down for a few seconds, don鈥檛 blame the horses, blame the drivers.

If they are in a hurry to get somewhere, maybe they should leave earlier, or even better, don鈥檛 drive through James Bay.
