I saw hate on Thursday night 鈥� and it wasn鈥檛 coming from Jenn Smith.
I still don鈥檛 know if I share Smith鈥檚 perspective because I wasn鈥檛 allowed to hear it. I tried. I stayed for a full hour of shouting, noisemakers and the continuing fire alarm before being driven out.
My aged ears can鈥檛 take it anymore, despite my commitment to free speech. I hope that those who stuck it out did get to hear the speaker eventually and that this debacle did not escalate to more than verbal violence.
