The first of these letters was fabulous; the second was flawed.

All party candidates are nominated by parties before being voted upon by citizens. With first-past-the-post, voters get one choice per party; with proportional representation, voters have more choices. None of the resulting MLAs are appointed, in any system, and the vested-interest opposition continues to lie about this and other facts.

Anyone who truly favours single transferable vote should select proportional representation in referendum question No. 1 and rural-urban proportional representation in question No. 2. It really is simple.

Voters have many referendum choices, including the option of leaving question 2 blank if they like all the proportional representation choices, or if they don鈥檛 have time to study the details of how each option creates the desired proportionality. As some like to say, 鈥渋t鈥檚 all good!鈥

Vote yes to proportional representation.
