New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern recently opened her address to the New Zealand parliament with 鈥淎s-salaam alaikum.鈥� She followed with: 鈥淚 implore you, speak the names of those who were lost rather than the name of the man who took them. He is a terrorist. He is a criminal. He is an extremist. But he will, when I speak, be nameless.鈥� Nameless.
It is reported that New Zealand gun-reform laws are imminent. Perhaps they will be similar to the success of close neighbour Australia. Such strong and compelling leadership. Very different from responding with 鈥淭houghts and prayers,鈥� or plans to 鈥淎rm the teachers.鈥�
