Re: 鈥淰igil starts healing in New Zealand,鈥 March 19.
New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern recently opened her address to the New Zealand parliament with 鈥淎s-salaam alaikum.鈥 She followed with: 鈥淚 implore you, speak the names of those who were lost rather than the name of the man who took them. He is a terrorist. He is a criminal. He is an extremist. But he will, when I speak, be nameless.鈥 Nameless.
It is reported that New Zealand gun-reform laws are imminent. Perhaps they will be similar to the success of close neighbour Australia. Such strong and compelling leadership. Very different from responding with 鈥淭houghts and prayers,鈥 or plans to 鈥淎rm the teachers.鈥
Please, sa国际传媒: Follow New Zealand and continue to safely strengthen our gun laws. For the sake of all Canadians.
