Rather than fill in this form online, I used the telephone to do so. When I declined to give my Social Insurance number, I was told that my form would be rejected and there were allusions to repercussions if I did not comply. I did inform the person that I legally did not have to supply the number in this case, and she disagreed. She was unaware of that information.
