I agree that letting some species become extinct so that others may live is a model of sacrificial destruction, not of conservation. But those who call such sacrifice a 鈥淣oah鈥檚 Ark鈥� conservation model pervert the very concept of Noah鈥檚 Ark.
My old King James Bible gives the tale so: 鈥淎nd they went in unto Noah into the ark two and two of all flesh wherein is the breath of life 鈥� male and female of all flesh鈥� (Genesis, 7: 15 & 16). So a true 鈥淣oah鈥檚 Ark鈥� model would aim to preserve all species, not just those for which it might be cost-effective.
Those who wish to play God ought to at least follow the script.
