Re: 鈥淎znavour was known as French Frank Sinatra,鈥 Oct. 2.
I was very disappointed that the story about Charles Aznavour, the famous French singer, had the headline: 鈥淎znavour was known as French Frank Sinatra.鈥 That is a complete insult to this incredible singer-songwriter, as he didn鈥檛 have anything in common with Sinatra.
Why do we always have to compare someone to people in the U.S.? Does the sa国际传媒 really think that the whole world revolves around what happens in that country?
Why does the sa国际传媒 take an article that came from the Associated Press and not even change the headline? Can we not write an original story anymore? I鈥檓 sure that the newspapers in Quebec have covered this in a different way, and I would like to think that we have enough intelligent writers here in sa国际传媒 who would have written a better story.
Aznavour was known around the world for the incredible songs he wrote himself, and they were copied by many singers from everywhere. He was very well liked and was a real gentleman, so to compare him to Sinatra is incredibly arrogant. I have been watching the European TV programs, and they were disgusted with the fact that we in North America were so ignorant as to make this comparison.
