Could someone please tell me what the clerk of the house does to merit a salary of $1,000 a day plus expenses? (The same as our prime minister.) Who decides on such bloated remuneration?
Are the replacements for Craig James and Gary Lenz being paid at their rate? And will there be months of audits? Lawyers for both sides?
The last case of this kind cost us $6聽million, if I recall. Forget health-care wait lists, homeless concerns, disability income payments 鈥� there are more important things to spend our money on, it seems.
But one positive result could come out of this. The sewage system will have cost overruns (who would have guessed?) and if all the money leached from the legislature budget for inadmissible claims is returned, perhaps it will be enough to finance the shortfall.
