It is understandable that many people are fearful of changing our voting system. Changing long-standing traditions always makes some nervous.
It was the same when the king gave up some power to the lords. Then again, when the vote was extended to all landowners. More fear when the vote was extended to all men, even those wretches who didn鈥檛 own land. Again when women were given the vote. Then blacks, then Chinese, then in 1960 to sa国际传媒鈥檚 original inhabitants.
Allowing all voters to have representation in our legislature through proportional representation is another step in the same direction. It is good.
