Likely, some of my friends won鈥檛 want to talk to me after they read this, but I聽want to compliment U.S. President Donald Trump on his excellent State of the Union address the other night.
I have watched every State of the Union for probably 40 years and I have never seen a president receive a standing ovation from the entire audience. And it happened not once, but several times.
He obviously believes that the best role that he can play now is as a conciliator. The political climate in America is toxic and divided and has been that way since the 1960s.
Perhaps Trump can force a new culture of political discourse into the American mindset and launch the country onto a more co-operative path toward, as he calls it, greatness.
