Re: 鈥淏eware the slate running in Saanich,鈥� letter, Sept. 23.
The letter-writer railed against Saanich Mayor Richard Atwell and the like-minded slate in the upcoming municipal election. Somehow, the writer thought this was some kind of danger.
Perhaps it is time to install a fresh council that respects taxpayers and property owners. Maybe, just maybe, we would then see a more pragmatic approach to the many difficult decisions facing Saanich in the next several years.
I value the opportunity to vote for Atwell and United for Saanich candidates in the hope that real change occurs. I don鈥檛 expect or want them to vote as a bloc, but I like their general perspective.
