The greatest victory of socialists has been the capture of the word 鈥減rogressive.鈥� Implication: If you are not 鈥減rogressive,鈥� you are reactionary.
It was the first progressive conservative, Edmund Burke, who in 1790聽warned: 鈥淭he state without the means of some change is without the means of its conservation.鈥�
