Speculation tax is NDP鈥檚 craziest plan

I think the premier and our finance minister are both going off the rails.

I think the premier and our finance minister are both going off the rails.

Someone once told me that finance and taxation departments in both federal and provincial governments take their accountants and lock them up in dungeon-like rooms in the basements of the Parliament buildings.

It is cold and damp down there, and they are fed Pepsi and Oh Henry bars, and are not allowed out until they come up with a new tax, preferably taxes that the government thinks it can implement without the taxpayers knowing they are being robbed.

I thought that when former premier Christy Clark left us, we were sort of heading down the straight and narrow. Now I think John Horgan and Carole James might have slipped some whacky tobacco in with the sodas and bars.

I think they hope that older, more mature property owners (I am one of those), and people who have trouble comprehending the written word will simply file their letters because they don鈥檛 understand what it all means. So now there is another hand in our pocket or purse and digging deeper, trying to get whatever money might be left after we pay the increases in ICBC rates, property taxes, sa国际传媒 Hydro rates, sky-high gas prices, etc.

This is truly the craziest plan the NDP has ever come up with, and I聽hope most sa国际传媒 taxpayers will remember where to place their 鈥淴鈥 at the next election.
