Re: 鈥淓nergy board endorses Trans Mountain pipeline,鈥 Feb. 23.
Good news that the National Energy Board has completed the marine-impact study and has recommended that the Trans Mountain Pipeline project proceed. The matter is now back to the federal government to complete Indigenous consultations to meet the court requirements.
Due legal process is being followed, but the protesters have already hit the streets again, protesting the NEB study and conclusion.
It is likely that no matter the outcome, Leonardo DiCaprio and his Canadian disciples will access even more U.S. corporate funding, raise more legal blocks, reject the marine study without even reading it, dismiss the consultation outcome, and find alternative and unrelated Indigenous minorities to use and exploit.
There cannot be any good outcome from this for sa国际传媒 or for any Canadians. It is wholly without principle or any justification. Sadly, the misinformation will continue, and probably succeed, but shutting down one Canadian industry will severely damage Canadians only and make zero difference, either to accelerating global hydrocarbon production and consumption or to even sa国际传媒鈥檚 and Quebec鈥檚 rapidly increasing use of oil imports.
It will only be a step backward in affecting climate change.
A passionate minority of Canadians have been duped into believing, not that a global managed and funded transition to alternative energy is required, but that they can save the world by attacking sa国际传媒 alone and in isolation.
They will only damage our country globally, the well-being of our people and even threaten Confederation.
I guess we deserve a Trump.
