To date, I have been asked for donations to the Dandelion Society, the Open Door, the Mustard Seed, Our Place, Cool Aid, Salvation Army, Transition House, hospitals, the Cancer Society and, of course, the food bank and sa国际传媒 Christmas Fund. Through the mail, I鈥檝e received unsolicited Christmas cards, address stickers (enough to last a lifetime), pens, key tags, all from groups needing help.
Last week, I stood on the frosted sidewalk from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., waiting for the medical clinic to open, trying to make sure I could get in that day. After a brief period with a doctor, I was told to come back the next day for my second issue, as they only have time for one question.
What is happening to our country? Yes, we have freedom, but obviously our taxes don鈥檛 cover our needs. I worry for my grandchildren, great-grandchildren and future generations.
