Re: 鈥淧rivy Council clerk Wernick bows out,鈥 March 19.
It was not long ago that the prime minister looked Canadians in the eye through TV cameras and stated that the 鈥渢ruth鈥 would come out with respect to the SNC-Lavalin affair through the ethics commissioner and the justice committee.
The ethics commissioner is now on sick leave, and the prime minister has pulled the strings on his justice committee Liberal members to close down the investigation. It is not that the work of the committee was satisfactorily completed.
The former attorney general did not get an opportunity to return for further questioning following the second questioning of the Prime Minister鈥檚 Office principal secretary and the clerk of the Privy Council Office. Additionally, the AG鈥檚 chief of staff, the justice minister鈥檚 chief of staff, the PMO鈥檚 chief of staff and two staff lawyers who were directly involved in the unwanted pressure and interference in the rule of law were not questioned.
The prime minister has purposefully misled the people of sa国际传媒 and has 鈥渂reached鈥 their trust.
The most ethical leader left in the Liberal government is Jane Philpott, the former head of the treasury board. Canadian voters, as a jury, will pronounce their sentence on election day.
