While I realize that Adrian Raeside's Aug. 4 cartoon depicting the sa国际传媒 coast as "where it rained all June" is meant to be tongue-in-cheek, it has no basis in reality, especially for Victoria.
The fact is that, based on long term averages, Victoria is the driest major city in the country in June (along with July and August as well). For example, we get about one-quarter as much rainfall as Calgary or Toronto in June, and about half as much as Penticton.
Even in a June like this past one, with nearly double our normal rainfall, we are still drier than most other places across the country.
