I support and strongly endorse Coun. Ben Isitt鈥檚 initiative for the city of Victoria to purchase and provide land to partner with senior levels of government to provide affordable housing, but I鈥檓 surprised that it鈥檚 taken this long for Victoria to come to the ball.
Many municipalities in sa国际传媒 have been doing this for years. Purchasing land and building up a land bank is simply prudent governance; it鈥檚 just like ensuring you have money in your bank account.
I encourage city council to move rapidly on this matter. Increasing lack of affordable housing is driving young families away and hollowing out our community.
