We cannot have ‘proportional people’

The interest in proportional representation confuses me. Currently, we elect individual people. There are 87 seats in the saʴý legislature, and in each riding, the candidate with the most votes gets a seat to represent that defined region.

You cannot have “proportional people.” One gets a seat or not.

Perhaps the objective is to elect political parties instead of individuals. If that is the objective, why not just put only political parties on the ballots?

Forget about individuals. The political parties pick them anyway.

I vote for people, and people are “first past the post.”
