Re: "Let hunters kill more deer: report," Sept. 1. While Victorians are complaining about too many deer in their neighbourhoods, communities along the northwest coast of the island are complaining about the lack of deer in their area.

It seems that I cannot pass through a checkout counter in a store these days without the clerk applying a significant amount of psychological pressure by asking if I would donate a dollar or two to a charity.

I'm sorry to see that the proposal to tranquilize deer and relocate them up-island to the wild is not among the list of recommendations from the advisory group.

With schools opening across sa国际传媒 this week, there is much to celebrate and much to keep in perspective.

Re: "West Coast Trail boardwalks neglected," Aug. 30. My husband and I and four friends hiked the West Coast Trail a few weeks ago and can also attest to the appalling condition of the boardwalks on the trail.

In the past, I have been supportive of medical caregivers and other hospital workers on issues of working conditions and compensation.

Re: "University degrees are worth the cost," Aug. 30. The letter-writer claims that jobs for grads have grown substantially since 2008 whereas jobs for non-grads have declined.
