Re: 鈥淢useum will be tough sell,鈥� editorial, Feb. 5. The Maritime Museum of British Columbia recently announced plans to become sa国际传媒鈥檚 National Maritime Museum and to return to its former home in Bastion Square after renovation.

Why are Canadian governments not doing what the majority of Canadians want? All civilized, sensible people want to stop the burning of fossil fuels and their devastation to the environment and to all life on Earth.

Establishing sa国际传媒鈥檚 National Maritime Museum in Victoria makes wonderful sense.

As a gentleman of advancing years, I聽find myself walking on the new bicycle lanes as an alternative to the multi-surfaced sidewalks around town.

In 1945 Victoria, women no longer wore iron corsets and, even worse, had arrived at such depravity that the ending of a five-year conflict was indeed a kissing occasion. I remember it joyfully myself, both giving and receiving.
