Carbon tax doesn鈥檛 look like incentive

Re: 鈥淐arbon rebates get a roasting from both sides,鈥 Oct. 24. The government imposes a tax of, say, $100 on large emitters such as refineries. Refineries raise their price to consumers by $100 to compensate for their higher costs.

Sidney development would be eyesore

Electoral reform will聽empower voters

I believe that British Columbians, regardless of political leanings, want our government to create good policies based on fair, open, genuine and widely considered discussion. We need an electoral system that enables that to occur.

Madoff defended sensible development

New Zealand used second referendum

Re: 鈥淪econd vote raises mistrust,鈥 column, Oct. 23. The columnist seems to imply that the legislation to add a vote in the future on whether to retain a new voting system is an attempt to get a Yes result in the upcoming referendum.
