Vancouver is, infamously, one of the most expensive places for housing these days.
In fact, it was the "least affordable" city in sa国际传媒 and third-least affordable in the world in an international study.
However, sa国际传媒 is a big province, and some properties are surprisingly affordable compared to those in the big city.
Take , for example.
It's right now, selling for $2 million. The average standalone house in Metro Vancouver is selling for more than $2 million.
The resort is substantially larger than the average house in Vancouver; the 103-acre property is a little smaller than Jericho Beach Park.
On that piece of land, there's a fully functional resort. The 11,000-square-foot main log building has 14 rooms, a commercial kitchen and a lounge with a wet bar and floor-to-ceiling fireplace. It was built by Pioneer Log Homes, the company that was the subject of the show .
There's also a variety of other rooms currently used for recreation, meetings and other miscellaneous things.
Outside the lodge, there's also an RV park, animal shelters, and other equipment for caring for large animals. And nearby there's plenty of wildlife.
"Immerse yourself in the untouched nature surrounding our lodge, rich in game and wildlife," reads the resort's website, which lists lots of local animals including elk, wolves, grizzly bears, and moose.
While the huge property offers a lot that wouldn't be found on an urban listing, there's a reason for that.
Williston Lake Resort is located on Williston Lake, just west of Hudson's Hope, a town with a population of 1,000.
The man-made lake is massive (it's the largest lake in sa国际传媒 and the in the world), but it's a somewhat remote area. The largest town near the lake is Chetwynd, a logging town of about 2,500 people. Fort St. John, with more than 20,000 residents, is the largest nearby community more than an hour away.
The resort is the closest accommodation to W.A.C. Bennett Dam, the dam that created the lake. But for someone tired of the busy city life, it could be an option.
Correction: This story previously stated that the resort was near Mackenzie. It is in fact closer to Chetwynd.
