Photos: Eye-catching Ron Thom heritage home lists for $3.4M in West Vancouver

It鈥檚 the first time the Anderson House has been on the market since it was built in 1956

For the right price, you could own a home designed by one of sa国际传媒’s most significant architects of the 20th century.

The property at 1655 Ottawa Ave. in West Vancouver has listed on the market for $3.4 million.

The Anderson House, designed by the late Ron Thom, was built in 1956 and is on the district’s heritage register.

The 3,022-square-foot home has four bedrooms and three bathrooms. The living room features prominently in the home’s design with a vaulted ceiling, transom windows, custom millwork and a large concrete fireplace.

A flat-roof design also lends to the home’s West Coast Modern character.

Most of the structure’s original features remain intact, but the kitchen and bathrooms have been updated.

The home’s landscaped exterior has a wrap-around driveway, with mature trees and shrubs throughout the 13,111-square-foot lot. A pond has been added off the back patio.

Born in Penticton, Thom never went to architecture school but was recognized for his talents while apprenticing. He would go on to design projects including Massey College at the University of Toronto and the Oakville Centre for the Performing Arts.

Thom was awarded the Order of sa国际传媒 in 1980.
