Alberni Bulldogs visiting Victoria Grizzlies in BCHL play Tuesday

The Bulldogs are coming off a two-game sweep of the last-place Cowichan Valley Capitals over the weekend at the Alberni Valley Multiplex.

The Bulldogs bring their bark into the Q Centre Tuesday night.

Alberni Valley (27-17-4), a recent rapid-riser in the sa国际传媒 Hockey League standings, brings the collar and all down-Island to meet the Victoria Grizzlies (23-15-8) at 7 p.m.

Both clubs have made the playoffs and are vying for home-ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs with the Bulldogs in third place and the Grizzlies in fifth place in the Coastal Conference. Only six points, however, separate the third through sixth positions in the conference behind the top-two seeds Nanaimo and Surrey.

The Bulldogs are coming off a two-game sweep of the last-place Cowichan Valley Capitals over the weekend at the Alberni Valley Multiplex with NCAA Division 1 Merrimack College committed forward Dave Sacco named BCHL player of the week for his four goals and six points in the set.

The Bulldogs are especially strong in the crease and feature former Victoria Royals’ Western Hockey League goaltender Campbell Arnold and touted NCAA Division 1 University of North Dakota-bound Hobie Hedquist.

The Grizzlies, meanwhile, split with the Kings over the weekend at Hap Parker Arena in Powell River.

The Bulldogs and Grizzlies meet again Friday night at the Q Centre before the Grizzlies host the Coastal Conference-leading Nanaimo Clippers on Saturday evening.
