Coach Rob Kinnear鈥檚 Breakers used strong second, third and fourth quarters to pull out a 73-50 win over the Kelowna Owls in quarter-final play on Thursday. A 17-8 run in the second gave Oak Bay a 32-25 advantage at the half.

The Island champions will face No. 1 South Kamloops tonight at 8 in a semifinal.

鈥淚t will be a tough one,鈥 said Kinnear. 鈥淭he defending champs ... we played them to overtime about six weeks ago and lost by one. We can play with them, but we鈥檒l have to be at our best.鈥

Lauren Yearwood had 23 points, Chloe Campbell added 22 and Morgan Roskelley had 16 for Oak Bay.

The Claremont Spartans, the Island鈥檚 second entry, was defeated 54-35 by the Fleetwood Park Dragons.

At the boy鈥檚 double A sa国际传媒 championship in Kamloops, Lambrick Park came up with a 76-70 win over R.C. Palmer of Richmond, led by 20 points from Alex Chen, 18 from Matt Neueld and 17 from Brendan Somers, who was named player of the game, in a quarter-final win.

Brentwood defeated Archbishop Carney 71-69 in the later quarter-final and will face Lambrick at 5:45 p.m.

St. Michaels University School dropped a 61-50 decision to No. 1 Holy Cross in another quarter-final.

Wellington, already reduced to consolation play, defeated L.V. Rogers 69-60.

In girl鈥檚 double A play at Kamloops, Wellington downed Sa-Hali 57-37 in quarter-final action, while SMUS was taking on St. Thomas Aquinas in the later game.
