Curtis Dickson’s fourth goal of the game, with just a second left on the clock, gave the Maple Ridge Burrards a 10-9 Western Lacrosse Association win over the visiting Victoria Shamrocks on Sunday night.
Dickson, by far the leading scorer in the league, also added four assists as he continues to shred defences apart.
The victory clinched the season series for the Burrards, having won two of three meetings against the Shamrocks, who do remain in first place with a 7-3 record.
Maple Ridge is second at 6-4, followed by Langley at 5-3-1and Burnaby (the only other team to defeat Victoria) at 5-6.
Ben McIntosh and Riley Loewen added three goals and two goals respectively for the Burrards, while Jarrett Davis added a goal and four assists.
Dickson now has 38 goals and 32 assists in 10 games, 20 points more than Victoria’s Corey Small.
Mitch Jones led the Shamrocks with two goals and two assists, while Small had a goal and three helpers. Dylan Evans, Tyler Hass, Dan MacRae, Scott Ranger, Derek Lowe and Cory Conway also scored for Victoria.
The Shamrocks — who are in Nanaimo on Saturday — out-shot Maple Ridge 48-37.
