Camosun names new hoops boss

The Camosun College Chargers have hired Scot Cuachon as interim head coach for the men's basketball team.

The Camosun College Chargers have hired Scot Cuachon as interim head coach for the men's basketball team.

After two seasons as assistant coach, Cuachon takes over from former head man Craig Price, who resigned from the program this summer to move back to his home province of Alberta, where he will be coaching and teaching at Medicine Hat College.

"Craig left this program in fantastic shape and because of that, the transition will be a much smoother one," Cuachon said in a news release. "We have a great group of returning athletes, some

Cuachon said he looks forward to guiding the Chargers team, which earned bronze at the 2011-12 Pacwest provincial championships.

"I am extremely excited about taking over a program that is on the rise," he said. "This is a very big opportunity for me and it is a very exciting time to be a part of Camosun basketball."

Cuachon studied high performance athlete development at the University of Western Ontario and has 10 years of coaching experience.
