The Campbell River Storm is again Vancouver Island Junior Hockey League champion. The Storm blanked the Saanich Braves 6-0 in the deciding Game 7 of the league final Saturday evening at Rod Brind'Amour Arena.

The Braves, making their first appearance in the final since 1996, led 3-2 in the series, but were outscored 10-0 in the final two games. The Storm, also the 2015 and 2017 champion, was making its fourth consecutive trip to the VIJHL final, having met the Victoria Cougars the previous three seasons. Last year's final also went to Game 7.

Campbell River advances to the 2018 Cyclone Taylor Cup provincial championship tournament, from April聽12 to 15, in Richmond.
