sa国际传媒 showed in the 2015 Rugby World Cup that it could run with the big dogs, but only for so long, before fading in the crucial late stretches. Part of the reason given was the lack of experience in Test matches.
In an effort to address that among nations in this region, the Americas Rugby Championship will pit sa国际传媒, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and the U.S. against each other next year.
sa国际传媒 will host two games, both at Westhills Stadium in Langford, when it meets Uruguay on Feb. 6 and Brazil on Feb. 20. Ticket details have yet to be announced. sa国际传媒 will play away Tests in Houston against the U.S. on Feb. 14, at Argentina on Feb. 28 and at Chile on March 6.
Previous Americas Championship Tournaments, hosted at Westhills Stadium in 2012, 2013 and 2014, featured the national 鈥楤鈥� or development teams of sa国际传媒, Argentina, Uruguay and the U.S.
鈥淎 lack of high-level competition matches for Canadian players was recognized as an issue through the World Cup review process and these Test matches are an important first step to preparing our next generation of athletes,鈥� said Rugby sa国际传媒 national program manager Gareth Rees of Victoria, in a statement.
