Victoria athletes Emma Entzminger and Chelsea Strandlund are both with Team sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½, which finished third in Pool A of the event and will face China in playoff action today but is not in a position to medal.

sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ (5-2) had opened up play with a forfeit win over Venezuela and a 5-0 victory over Great Britain on Monday before collecting 5-1 and 11-1 wins over the Czech Republic and Korea on Tuesday.

sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ remained undefeated with a 4-0 win over Puerto Rico on Wednesday morning before suffering its first loss, 4-0, to the United States that evening. The Americans finished atop Pool A at 7-0.

New Zealand finished at 5-2 in Pool A, but got into the semifinals with the win over sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½. Puerto Rico was fourth at 4-3.

Strandlund had a triple, an RBI and a run scored against Puerto Rico, while Entzminger had a hit and two RBIs vs. Great Britain. — sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½
