sa国际传媒's top archers are set to invade South Island

The country's top archers are set to spring into action on the Island at the 2012 Canadian Target Archery Championships, beginning with the field event today in Duncan, hosted by the Cowichan Bowmen club.

The country's top archers are set to spring into action on the Island at the 2012 Canadian Target Archery Championships, beginning with the field event today in Duncan, hosted by the Cowichan Bowmen club.

The target portion of the five-day competition then shifts to the West Shore as the Victoria Bowmen entertain sa国际传媒's top archers at the Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre.

sa国际传媒's female representative at the 2012 Olympic Games, Marie-Pier Beaudet - who finished 29th last week in London - is registered for the event, but Crispin Duenas, who placed eighth in the men's individual event at the Olympics, is not. However, Christopher Perkins - the 2011 world men's champion - from Athens, Ont., will be competing.

The field event at the Cowichan club begins today at 9 a.m.

Thursday is a practice day at Juan de Fuca, which includes equipment inspection, before the opening ceremonies at 5 p.m.

The FITA (World Archery) Round event swings into motion on Friday at 10 a.m. at Juan de Fuca, followed by the FITA 70-and 50-metre competition and Fred Usher Cup team competition Saturday.

Sunday is reserved for the Canadian Open (single elimination), beginning at 9 a.m.
