The wind came up and the scores equally soared in the third round of the 113th sa国际传媒 Men鈥檚 Amateur at Fairview Mountain Golf Course in Oliver on Thursday.

Royal Colwood鈥檚 Kevin Carrigan was one of just four players to record a sub-par round.

Carrigan, who finished seventh last year and third in 2013, signed for a very steady 1-under 71 to move up more than 20 spots into a tie for 11th with a three-day total of 218 (75-72-71) heading into today鈥檚 final round.

Jared du Toit of Kimberley was low man at 3-under 69 and leads the way overall at 11-under 205, four strokes up on Stuart Macdonald of Point Grey, a member of the Purdue Boilermakers NCAA team. Du Toit slipped to a 2-over 74 after a 66 on Wednesday.

Macdonald and du Toit are well clear of Hazelmere鈥檚 Jae Hoon Kim in third at 2-under 214.

Parksville鈥檚 Brayden Eriksen, who plays out of Pheasant Glen, began the day in third but, like many, slipped in the tougher conditions on his way to a 3-over 75 to sit fourth at 215 with Carrigan the next highest Islander.

Ladysmith鈥檚 Dallas Jones (Mount Brenton) struggled to a 6-over 78 to go with rounds of 69-72 to sit tied for 15th. Crown Isle junior Logan Yanick (72-71-77) is tied for 17th with Craig Doell of Victoria Golf Club (75-71-74) and Royal Colwood鈥檚 Daniel Fratczak (73-75-72).
