The last time Patrick Chan performed on Blanshard, he delivered a kinetic performance to be remembered a lifetime in setting the world record for points before a rapturous capacity crowd at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre in the 2011 Canadian figure-skating championships.

"I've been to Olympics and world championships and never seen a men's long program like that in my life," said William Thompson, CEO of Skate sa国际传媒, at the time.

Two-time defending world champion Chan will return to the Memorial Centre on May 8 as part of his debut with the Investors Group Stars on Ice.

It is the biggest news in years to hit that skate show, which annually stops in Victoria, and features Winter Olympic medallists Tessa Virtue, Scott Moir, Joannie Rochette and Jeffrey Buttle.

It was announced tickets have gone on sale at the arena box office or through Select Your Tickets.

The 12-city 2013 tour begins April 19 in Halifax and concludes May 10 at Rogers Arena in Vancouver. En route, it plays the biggest arena venues in the country, including Scotiabank Place in Ottawa, Air sa国际传媒 Centre in Toronto, MTS Centre in Winnipeg, Scotiabank Sad-dledome in Calgary and Rex-all Place in Edmonton.

Meanwhile, two-time defending champion Chan was admittedly disappointed in his bronze medal Saturday at the Grand Prix Final in Sochi. That's the Russian city in which he hopes to win gold during the 2014 Winter Olympics. [email protected]
