Coquitlam takes series lead over Junior Shamrocks heading into Game 2 at Q Centre

sa国际传媒 champion will represent province in Minto Cup national tournament in Edmonton

The Junior Adanacs edged the Victoria Junior Shamrocks 10-8 to open the best-of-seven sa国际传媒 Junior A Lacrosse League playoff final series Saturday in Coquitlam. The game was tied 5-5 after two periods. Silas Richmond led Victoria with a hat-trick while Thomas Vela had a goal and four assists and Noah Manning five assists.

The second game is today at The Q Centre at 3:30 p.m. The third game is next Saturday in Coquitlam and fourth game next Sunday at The Q Centre.

The second seed Junior Shamrocks, led by Vela, swept the third seed Nanaimo Junior Timbermen 3-0 in a best-of-five, all-Island semifinal series with the third game decided in overtime. The top-seed Junior Adanacs swept the fourth-seed Port Coquitlam Saints in the other semifinal series.

The sa国际传媒 champion will represent the province in the Minto Cup national Junior A championship tournament next month in Edmonton.

BOXLA NOTES: The New Westminster Salmonbellies (13-3) defeated the Victoria Shamrocks (8-7-1) by a 10-7 count in Western Lacrosse Association action to halt Victoria’s winning streak at four games.
