Dallas Cowboys defensive tackle Josh Brent was arrested for drunk driving and charged with manslaughter Saturday after a car he was driving crashed and killed teammate Jerry Brown Jr.
It was the week's second tragedy involving NFL players. Police in the Dallas suburb of Irving said that Brent, 24, was driving at high speed on a highway at 2: 21 a.m. when the car hit a curb and flipped.
Brown, 25, who had been a passenger, was pronounced dead shortly after. Brent suffered "minor scrapes" and was booked into the Irving jail.
Last Saturday, Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Jovan Belcher shot his girlfriend to death before killing himself.
