The optimism is borne out with a sold-out field of 312 announced Thursday for the largest Canadian Q-School ever April 7-12 at Tukwet Canyon, California.
The top 20 from that event will earn exempt status for the 2013 PGA Tour sa国际传媒, in which the first event on Canadian soil is the sa国际传媒 Island Savings Victoria Open June 6-9 at Uplands.
鈥淭he response has been fantastic,鈥� said PGA Tour sa国际传媒 president Jeff Monday, in a telephone interview.
鈥淭he players now know if they play well [in PGA Tour sa国际传媒], they are one step closer to the PGA Tour. That's the goal for all these players.鈥�
Under the new arrangement being inaugurated this year, the top-five players on the PGA Tour sa国际传媒 Order of Merit will earn 2014 Web.com Tour cards.
The Web.com Tour is the main feeder tour to the big-league PGA Tour.

Last year鈥檚 winner of the Canadian Tour鈥檚 California Q-School, Andrew Roque, went on to win the 2012 sa国际传媒 Island Savings Victoria Open.
