Former Vancouver Islanders head coach Doug Hocking joins Westshore Rebels

A former sideline adversary 鈥 ex-Vancouver Island Raiders head coach Doug Hocking 鈥 has joined the Westshore Rebels of the sa国际传媒 Junior Football Conference.

A former sideline adversary 鈥 ex-Vancouver Island Raiders head coach Doug Hocking 鈥 has joined the Westshore Rebels of the sa国际传媒 Junior Football Conference.

Former Grey Cup champion Hocking, who played 12 seasons at linebacker from 1991 to 2002 in the CFL with the sa国际传媒 Lions and Winnipeg Blue Bombers, has joined the coaching staff of the Rebels.

Hocking will be offensive consultant to Rebels鈥 offensive co-ordinator J.C. Boice.

As head coach of V.I. Raiders, Hocking was named BCFC coach of the year for leading the Raiders to the 2017 Cullen Cup with a championship-game win over Westshore. Hocking stepped down as head coach of the Raiders in November to spend more time with his family.

鈥淚 am excited to have the opportunity to continue coaching in the BCFC and now work with head coach Shane Beatty and offensive co-ordinator J.C. Boice,鈥 Hocking said.
