Goaltender Bidewell the hero as Caps beat Grizzlies

The Coastal Conference-trailing Cowichan Valley Capitals (7-22-2) upset the Victoria Grizzlies 3-1 in a sa国际传媒 Hockey League game Friday night in Duncan. The Grizzlies (15-12-4) were 8-1-1 in their last 10 games heading into the meeting. The Grizzlies lead the season series 5-1.

Logan Camp scored the winner for the Caps to make it 2-1 in the third period before an empty-net goal by Cole Melady clinched it. Jack Gorton scored the Grizzlies’ goal in the first period. McCoy Bidewell made 44 saves in goal for Cowichan Valley to be named first star.

The Grizzlies host the Coastal Conference-leading and BCHL second-leading Nanaimo Clippers (24-6-1), who were 4-2 losers Friday to Alberni Valley, tonight at the Q Centre. The Clippers lead the season series 2-1 over the Grizzlies.
