The Victoria Grizzlies on Thursday announced the hiring of Victoria HarbourCats general manager Jim Swanson, who joins the sa国际传媒 Hockey League team as director of operations for the upcoming 2015-16 season.
Team president John Wilson and governor Lance Black said Swanson will work to support Sonya Saujani, vice-president of operations for the Grizzlies, as both oversee the business and hockey sides of the franchise, working with general manager and head coach Craig Didmon.
A statement said that Swanson 鈥� who is a part-owner of the HarbourCats along with Wilson 鈥� will 鈥渓ead the Grizzlies in day-to-day operational, promotional and logistical areas, and will oversee hockey operations as they pertain to the team鈥檚 business plan.鈥�
The Grizzlies begin training camp Aug. 22. The BCHL regular season starts Sept. 11 when the Grizzlies visit the Cowichan Valley Capitals.
