Pitcher Kyle Mora and outfielder Jarron Silva, freshmen committed to the UCLA Bruins of the NCAA’s Pac-12, headline eight players signed Wednesday by the Victoria HarbourCats for the 2016 West Coast League baseball season.
In addition to starring for Los Alamitos High School in California, Mora has pitched for the scout team of the Milwaukee Brewers and New York Yankees.
Silva has played on the San Francisco Giants’ scout team and is a career .366 hitter with 14 doubles and nine triples while driving in 30 runs and scoring 58 at St Mary’s High School in Stockton, California.
Also inked were pitchers Creed Smith, Dalton Erb and outfielder Cody Snider, all from Chico State, pitchers Cody Ahlgrimm from Pacific and Steve Christen and Miles Bigelow, both from Big Bend Community College.
The HarbourCats roster now stands at 42 players signed.
The season opens June 3 in Walla Walla against the Sweets.
