The Victoria HarbourCats have added a couple of familiar faces to their 2017 roster.

On Thursday, the West Coast League team signed pitcher Greg Casper and catcher Riley Guntrip for the 2017 season. Both players were part of Victoria鈥檚 record-setting 40-win season and the franchise鈥檚 first WCL playoff berth last year.

Casper, a right-handed reliever who will attend the University of San Diego this fall, made 17 appearances for the HarbourCats last season with a 2-1 record, 1.92 ERA and five saves. The five saves tied a franchise record with teammate Holden Lyons.

Guntrip, a catcher, is currently with the UBC Thunderbirds and the Camrose, Alta., native hit .270 for Victoria last season, with one home run and 11 RBIs.

The HarbourCats open the 2017 WCL season on June 1 in Port Angeles against the Lefties. Victoria鈥檚 home opener is June 5 when the Wenatchee AppleSox pay a visit to Royal Athletic Park.
