HarbourCats’ pitchers stymie Lefties’ bats

Victoria defeated the Lefties 4-1 on Monday night at Royal Athletic Park before 1,308 fans. The Lefties, who relocated in the off-season from Kitsap, Washington, conclude their two-game set in Victoria tonight at 6:35.

Starter A.J. Block out of the Washington State Cougars took the win for Victoria in the set opener by tossing a one-hit gem over five innings with no runs allowed and four strikeouts with only one walk.

Cole Weiss went three-for-five for Victoria while Kevin Collard added two hits, including an RBI double. Purdue Boilermakers catcher Bryce Bonner also contributed two hits to the HarbourCats’ cause and is now batting .313 on the season.

Victoria won its second consecutive game to move to 6-5 on the season while Port Angeles fell to 5-6.
