The Victoria HarbourCats are three wins from tying the all-time West Coast League baseball record of 14 consecutive wins. The HarbourCats recorded their 11 straight victory Sunday at Royal Athletic Park in front of a Father’s Day matinée audience of 2,584.

The HarbourCats’ pitching again showed why the team ERA is an impressive 2.70.

Starter Will McAffer tossed a two-hitter over six full innings, with 10 strikeouts and only two walks, to lead Victoria to a 6-0 blanking of the Cowlitz Black Bears from Washington state. McAffer made his second strong outing in a row and had a no-hitter and perfect game going through four full innings.

Jake Stone from Fresno State led the Victoria offence with three hits, two runs scored and an RBI.

The win moved the HarbourCats’ record to 11-3 after three losses to start the season.

The HarbourCats host the Victoria Selects in an exhibition game Wednesday evening. Then the Kitsap BlueJackets are in town for a three-game WCL series beginning Friday night.
