It was a Father’s Day flameout for the Victoria HarbourCats, who saw their home winning streak snapped at eight games and their overall winning streak at five games Sunday afternoon before 3,408 fans at Wilson’s Group Stadium at Royal Athletic Park.

Tommy Eisenstat led the Yakima Valley Pippins (6-9) with three hits and two runs scored in a 6-3 victory that handed Victoria (11-4) its first home loss of the West Coast League baseball season.

Nick Dumesnil from NCAA Div. 1 Cal-Baptist led the HarbourCats with two hits and a run scored. Dallas Macias from the Pac-12 Oregon State Beavers and hometown-product Tyrus Hall had an RBI each for Victoria.

Starter Sean Heppner went three innings with reliever Alan Dai taking the loss.

The HarbourCats start a three-game home set beginning tonight against the Edmonton Riverhawks. The Riverhawks (4-10) were beaten 12-1 Sunday by the Nanaimo NightOwls (6-8) at Serauxmen Stadium in the Harbour City. The NightOwls cross the strait and border to begin a three-game set tonight in Port Angeles against the Lefties (5-10).
