The Wenatchee AppleSox (5-2) walked off the Victoria HarbourCats 9-8 in the 10th inning late Friday night in Washington state to hand the ’Cats their first loss after starting the West Coast League baseball season with six consecutive wins.

Nick Dumesnil led the Victoria attack with three hits, including a three-run homer.

The teams were meeting again Saturday night.

With a rain delay, the game was only in the fifth inning by press time, with the AppleSox leading 12-5. The HarbourCats conclude the series this afternoon in Wenatchee before heading to Port Angeles to begin a three-game series against the Lefties on Monday evening.

Victoria returns to Royal Athletic Park on Friday night to begin a three-game set against the Yakima Valley Pippins.

Meanwhile, the Bellingham Bells (5-1) defeated the Nanaimo NightOwls (3-4) by a 4-1 count on Friday night at Serauxmen Stadium to hand the ’Owls their fourth consecutive loss. Saturday night’s game was rained out. The Bells and NightOwls will meet in a doubleheader today beginning at noon in the Harbour City.
