Victoria Highlanders were blasted 7-1 Saturday by Lane United in Eugene, Oregon.

Victoria fell to 3-6 in the Premier Development League Northwest Division soccer tables, while Lane United moved to 3-5-4.

Francesco Bartolillo scored Victoria’s lone goal, his second of the season.

It had been Sho time for the Highlanders before that. Midfielder Sho Goto, a former J-League 2 pro, scored as the Highlanders blanked Lane United 1-0 in Eugene on Thursday.

Goto had scored the last four goals for Victoria before Bartolillo broke the streak Saturday.

Goto scored the Highlanders’ goals last week in a 1-0 victory and 3-1 loss against the TSS Rovers in Burnaby. He also scored Victoria’s goal in its previous 2-1 loss to Portland Timbers Under-23s at Centennial Stadium.

The Highlanders will be looking to gain revenge on the PDL Northwest Division second-place Timbers U-23 (5-1-4) when the teams clash in Portland today.

Victoria will continue its road trip in Seattle with a game against Sounders U-23 (4-5-1) on Friday.

The Highlanders return home to face the TSS Rovers (2-6-3) at Centennial Stadium next Sunday.

The Calgary Foothills lead the Northwest Division of the PDL at 7-1-2.
