A highlight of the sa¹ú¼Ê´«Ã½ meet was in the boys’ 3,000 metres as silver-medallist Tyler Dozzi of Oak Bay and gold-medallist Charlie Dannatt of North Vancouver’s Handsworth Royals both swept aside the 42-year-old meet record to reach the podium.

Dannatt was across in 8:16:59 and Dozzi in 8:16.22 to both smash the old record of 8:21.27 set by John Martens of Burnaby South in 1975. Dozzi and Dannatt will be teammates next year at UBC.

Desirae Ridenour of Cowichan Secondary swept the girls’ 1,500 and 3,000 metres in 4:29.55 and 9:44.16, respectively.
